Who Told The LSU Tigers They're Welcomed In The Swamp ?
Well it had to happen top 10 teams are falling like flies in a plague set environment. Mizzou, , Oklahoma and now LSU. But it in reality it had to happen as the Tigers were woefully inept on the offensive side of the ball and in terms of defense they were equally anemic. Florida set about beating LSU that's not often seen in terms of its efficiency and execution.

Tim Tebow led his team gallantly and by far and a way he was the best player on the field. And he was ably supported by Chris Rainey , Percy Harvin and a slew of other offensive weapons. Defensively the line held up and made LSU's offense look as if it had hit an iceberg much as in the same way the Titanic hit its iceberg in the mid Atlantic. The SEC and the teams therein showed why in the case of Florida and LSU how physical the game can be when it's played in an aggressive manner.

Florida in its emphatic 51-21 win over LSU served notice that its national title ambitions haven't been vanquished. And if anything it made everyone else aware within the SEC as well as on a national landscape that it's still a team to be feared. Tenacious and ferocious in their play the Gators were clicking on all cylinders and it showed in all facets of the game. Coach Urban Meyer had to be pleased in what he saw in his team and the show that they put on for the home fans there in Gainesville. And for LSU quarterback Jarret Lee this was a learning process in which the physcalities of the game may well have proved too much for him. He was harrassed for much of the night and whenever the Gators' offensive line got to him they did so without mercy.

This was in every sense of the word a make or break game for the Gators. A loss and that would've dampened their aspirations within the SEC. Most certainly any national title aspirations would've been beyond their reach without them being assisted by other teams either within the conference or on the national front. But that's not what Meyer and his had set out to do tonight. This was very much their way of making their own fortune and not placing it in the fate of others. And with the array of talent on the Gators' roster, it appeared that everyone stepped up to the plate and acquitted themselves well. Running backs Rainey and Demps were more than equal to the task and Percy Harvin showed he's a deep threat whenever he's got the ball in his hands.

Florida 3-1 within conference and 5-1 overall sit atop of the SEC East division and with Alabama losing tonight. It bodes well for Meyer's team and their ambitions. Statistically the Gators had the upper hand over their opponents. And with Tebow throwing for 2 TD's , 210 yds , as well as scoring a rushing TD. He was abetted by Demps with 10 carries for 129 yds and 1 TD and Harvin with 6 receipts for 112 yds and 2 TD's. And the manner with which the offense played must've been relished Urban Meyer and the Gator fans who may have been thinking when there'd be life to this arsenal.

For Les Miles' team this may well be a foray up to Gainesville that his team'll want to forget as they were never really in this game. Offensively they were challenged and were never really able to get their running game going. They were held to a measly 80 yds rushing on 26 carries throughout the game. Jarret Lee as the team's quarterback had to acquit himself as best he could by throwing the ball and amassed 209 yds on 23 of 38 attempts with 2 TD's and 2 INT's. He'd be replaced by teammate Andrew Hatch after Lee had suffered a mild concussion.

If ever there was a doubt as to the direction and the fate of this game . It was on display with the intensity shown by the Florida players. At no time did they allow LSU to dictate the tempo of the game and in Tim Tebow as the team's playmaker and leader. They overpowered this Tigers' team who were ranked as the #4 team by the AP Top 25. With Florida ranked at #11 it'd be wise to assume that they'll move up the rankings after this emphatic win. As previously stated it makes a statement to those who may have had some doubts as to the merits of the team and the direction that it was heading in. As to the heights to which they'll rise is open to question and conjecture.

The remainder of the season no doubt'll be filled with intrigue as it unfolds with a great deal of suspense. Surprises will definitely be along the way for many of the teams as their fates will lie in their own hands. So come what may let's see what destiny brings for each of the teams. Florida it'd seem has its own destiny mapped out at this juncture. But it appears that LSU's brief foray up to the swamp in Gainesville was unwelcoming one. For which it proved to be an immense disappointment for its fans and players and coaching staff alike.

- That was a massacre in the swamp!!!! Go Gators!!!
- I liked our chances for several reasons. 1) Every game in the series had been tight lately. 2) The Gators wanted revenge for the baton Rouge last year 3) LSU was starting a redshirt freshman at QB. 4) A loss would have essentially meant an end to their season. They have too much talent to be done yet.
Rev - This is from Dave-xbul-Shorty-you are one hell of a professional and forgive me for my cuss words at times-I luv your stuff-if you don't like certain words , then by all means tell me-I won't do it again-somebody got their ass whipped didn't they??!! Take care my friend
- the TX-OK game was the best college game this weekend. What a great shootout! Can't wait to see TX and Missou, too bad Missou didn't stay undefeated until next weekend. The LSU-Fla was sort of a big let down after the middle of the third quarter. It was looking good for LSU after the first possession of the second half, but there was just not enough QB play to keep up with all-world Tebow. I'm hoping or a USC vs. Fla. BCS Championship game. That should be a shootout.
- That LSU vs. Fla game was a complete surprise to me. Florida is back on track I guess and LSU has some QB issues to work out.
